a signpost ??like what street or ya mean like"i live here!!!"kinda deal
the best thing i have even seen on a post (well power pole) outside a guys place was a well made witch that had a mishap bout 1/2 way up the pole broom ,hat, cat and all looked real good tho eazy to spot too "leave town on route 66 drive 5 miles till ya see the witch !"it did get taken down tho only 2 lane main road and everyone stop to take pics..painted old horse plows look good too ..oh yea another guy had a big draft horse out the front made of fiberglass looked real people even stoped to feed it but the boys would go to town and get a skin full of silly water and loan it for a day or so used to turn up in some of the funnyest places at the beach ,pool,hitched up outside the pub ,in old peoples gardens
that the kinda thing ya after if so i can think of others

i have a little woodmills sign my mother gave me for a present but haven't put it up yet. i think in my town i need a permit, though they allow signs that have the name of the person who lives at the residence. since my last name really is mills, maybe i should just put it up. i also unearthed a huge rock that is mostly flat, i would like to stand it on its side and put my logo on it, but kathy my wife isn't sure about that yet.

Yeah, I'm looking for the "I live here" variety. MY wife calls me "Bear" so we might call the place "Bear's Den" or something like that. Or all my friends call me Rube, so something based on that might work also.
We live off a dirt road....maybe 5 to 10 cars per hour on average. I'm NOT looking to do something really elaborate....or that might tempt someone into theft. I expect to end up with something attractive but basic. But I think we can have fun with this thread, so all ideas are welcome.

I'll have a think on it overnight ,one thing that springs to mind heresbearslear ,bear fields (prob with one like this is people will stop and ask where are the bears!! well wife could say mowing the lawn that will shock them)hang on got one ya got a ditch or bridge ya cross to get to ya home?? if so ya get one of those BEARS CROSSING sign or ya could call the place "the woods" cos everyone knows bear lives in "the woods"
it will be good to see what comes out of this tho and there must be heaps of names
one not far from here is called "hadstock" but now it a plant place

About halfway up our long dirt driveway, we have a sign that we really like that we found at a tack shop. It says:
"This property is maintained for the comfort and security of our animals.
If you don't like that, go away!"
That pretty much sums up our philosophy.
