Gale the new rings are still in the box and engine runs good just low compression.
There will be a future date the engine again needs repair then will complete the rebuild.

I did have a minor accident when I put my flag pole back up. Had to back up a little to get pole in correct position. Heard a little crunch, but could not see anything, so backed up just a little more.

Chair was ugly anyway.

My dad had a 39 Plymouth that he took apart and put in the garage when I was a kid. It sat for at least 10 years before he decided to put it back together in the early 60's. Got it all back up and running and went to back it out of the garage. Put it in reverse and it went forward. Actually, it had 3 reverse and 1 forward. He installed the differential upside down. It had a matching bolt pattern.

But wait, here's the rest of the story...

He pulled it out turned it over and reinstalled. Took it out for a test ride and about 10 miles later it locks up. He forgot to add the differential fluid back in the second time.

Years ago I changed oil and filter on an old truck. Started it up and had oil spraying underneath. Looked and saw it was coming from the oil filter where it screwed to the block. Shut it off, pulled the filter, old filter gasket was still on the block and the new filter gasket squeezed it out of position. Lost at least half the oil.

We get our fair share of yellowjacket ground nests so I emptied an old gear oil bottle and filled it full of a dry chemical that I could squirt down the yellowjacket hole to kill them. Months later I needed to top off the gearbox of my brush cutter and you guessed it filled it up with dry chemical. At least I realized what I had done before trying to use the brush hog.

Was in a hurry to get a battery in my car. Slammed the new one in but didn't even notice the terminals were opposite from the old one. Blew every fuse in the car....

How about doing an oil change on JD. Well actually doing half an oil change. Went in to dinner and came back to finish. Started engine with no oil and seized engine. My bad and EXPENSIVE.

Jim with that chair put it in a wheel barrow with the handles on the ground and you have a government rocker.
And didn't know you had a newer tractor thought everything was cobbled from the scrap pile.

Has the Arizona weather improved enough to plan a vacation trip this year.

Your missing out, it's great weather right now. 55 at night, 80 to 90 in the daytime. Mostly light breezes & sun shine. Was overcast yesterday, but still around 85. Took my girls for a ride, one of their favorite things. Had a couple of beers on the back deck, while watching the birds. Hummers, Orioles , Quail, Cardinals, doves, & tons of sparrows & finches. More later.

I think a bailing wire, chewing gum 7 a couple of popsicle sticks and the chair will be good as new. :laughing:
