Really? Hmmm.... Let's see if I can rectify that.
Here's another shot of the truck.:laughing::laughing::laughing:

No, nope ... More of the same ... beautiful, shiny Kubota orange.

Can't say much about the others but I hate driving my FIL's 2wd base S10. It has plenty of power with the 4.3 but I can't stand the bench seat. Maybe one with a bigger cab would be more comfy. Having good ergonomics is high on my list.

We use a Colorado at work. Drives decent, good power with the 5 cylinder engine but the visibility out the truck is really bad. Bad visibilty out the side windows but the rear visibility is dangerous. I wouldn't recommend one.

I had an '87 Ranger STX 4x4, 2.9 V6, 5 speed trans. Really drove good and performed well. Didn't keep it long because I needed a bigger truck.

I had an '04 Tacoma 4-door 2WD. It was a pretty nice truck, definitely well-built, but I needed more to pull my boat, so I traded it for an '05 Titan, which I have today. I love my Titan

Although it prob should be, I don't think the Tacoma's gas mileage was all that much better than my Titan's.

(I love to quote myself!)

I decided to check on this. For 2011, a Tacoma Double Cab 4x2 V6 with a 5-speed auto transmission supposedly gets 17 mpg city/ 21 hwy. And, a Titan Extended Cab 4x2 V8 with auto transmission supposedly gets 17 mpg city/ 21 hwy. Sooo ... if those figures are reasonable, the Tacoma gets 30.8% better gas mileage city & 16.7% better hwy. Bigger difference than I thought.

My Ford ranger is a 2007, regular cab 4wd with a 5 speed auto and the 3.0L V6, my normal mileage sits between 19 and 20, this includes rarely going over 50 mph, mostly backroads hopping between places where I quail hunt. I like the truck because I can take it anywhere, park it anywhere, it rides very well and most of the time when I hunt it is either just me or maybe a friend or my dad, and since I quail hunt and have a dog box that slips in the back I don't have to carry alot of crap with me.
Aside from that I deer hunt fairly close to home so I either walk or put it in the cab. I love this truck to work out of, even with it being a 4wd I can still reach anything in the bed from the side without the use of a stepladder! These new full size pickups sit too tall, and I am almost 6' as is.

Like someone earlier said the Ranger is built on an old design that has stood the test of time, Rangers can take alot of abuse and keep going ( I don't do that to mine). The only thing I have had go wrong with mine was the electric shift motor in the transfer case went out at like 9000 miles and was covered under warranty, the truck now has 64xxx on it with no damage other than what I have caused (hit a deer last spring and put it on it's side this winter).

Bought my Tacoma used from a relative...estate sale...it's a prerunner, made in 2006. Has significant pep with the 6cyl engine. Wife absolutely LOVES it..has made it her driver. It fits well into my stable:

camry station wagon... 30 mpg...my favorite daily driver, 1 passenger, small loads

4 runner...19 mpg...for 4wd needs, light towing, medium size cargo, multiple passengers

tacoma pickup... 19 mpg....light towing...oversized cargo in bed, good weather, happy wife

F350 Diesel crew cab dually .. only used when hauling loads at near max capacity

All Toyota's have performed flawlessly for me. I drive 'em until they have 200 to 300K on them. Yes, there seemed to be a premium when purchased, but staying away from the repair shop pays benefits since I keep them until they completely die.

I'm a Chevy guy but I don't care for the Colorado. I got a free loaner from the Chevy dealer when my Silverado was getting some body work done. I hated it. The engine noise inside the cab were terrible. I've talked to freinds of mine that work on them and they aren't all that reliable.

I like the Toyotas but they don't get very good MPG's. The problem with many of the "little" trucks is they don't get that much better MPG's than the full size units. I can get 19 MPG with my 2005 crew cab 4x4 Silverado.

I'd stay away from the Dodge Dakotas. My buddy had one and got terrible MPG with it. Others have said the same.

Lots of choices out there. Good luck.

Edit: thanks for removing the oversize photos...

I'm "ok" with my 2009 Tacoma, backup camera is great but the things I hate about it are when you hit the brakes going around a corner, and it starts back up up in first gear  even if you are going 20+ mph, it revs up to 3,000 rpms before it figures out that there isn't a load on the transmission.

The door locks (I know, minor problem) beeps once to lock, twice to unlock the drives door, beeps two more times to unlock the others  So you are beeping like an idiot to open all the doors for your friends but since it only beeps once to lock it, I have to press it again to make sure that it's actually done...

The cruise control is the worst I've ever used. It has a range of 12 mph (above or below the set speed) going up and then down a hill, pull a trailer and forget about it... Granted I have a Dodge diesel truck that never moves up or down 1 mph while using the cruise control. Tocoma should call it the cruise un-control.

CD will not randomize songs between CD's... or I'm I not doing something correct? These are my biggest pet peeves, I will stop here....
