There is a Dublin Fire Company in Dublin, PA. I've been there but it was years ago and I don't remember if that is their building. Looks like a typical Pennsylvania small town fire house, though.

If memory serves, there is also a fire comapny in Dublin, MD. Gatorboy might recognize it since it's not too far from him (Route 136 just off of US 1).

I know nothing about it other than I picked it up with some other ambulance pictures about 15 years ago. After posting on another site, it was determined that the car is a 1953 Chrysler.

Attached is a picture of a list generated by DeLorme Street Atlas -- notice that some of the locations are described as a "locale", which I take to mean that the locals call their are by that name, but it isn't officially incorporated or perhaps have a post office.

If you're interested in any of them, I can get a capture of the map for each area to see where they are and what they are near...

I'm not able to help, but I have a similar story...

I have a picture of a couple of gentlemen in front of a REO dealership, standing next to their purchase. My father says one of the men in the photo was one of his cousins. The family owned a trucking company in the 1920's and 1930's. I was able to read the street address off the front of the building, and after a couple of years, I finally figured out where the building was located--
It is now the home of January's Paint & Wallpaper in Akron, Ohio... The building's original use was a REO truck dealership!

I don't know about the picture, but I can assure you that Dublin, CA has been around allot longer then the 1980's. I grew up in that part of the state.

It might not have been a bona fide "city" with a mayor and police force, but otherwise, it's been around allot longer than the date on the firehouse in your photo.

Doing a google search for Dublin Volunteer Fire Company with quotes (link), the first couple hits brought about the following cities that had/have a Dublin Volunteer Fire company (versus department or other):

Dublin, PA (already been mentioned)
