Thanks all for the tips. I should have added that because of my blood pressure meds, I get a cursory checkup every 90 days and I take a full physical every 2 years. I had a full heart checkout this spring and it's healthy as a horse. Blood sugar is good too.

Ain't getting old a peach! I appreciate all the comments though because I will ask all these questions to my doctor when I go in next time. It's the sudden change that freaks me out.

Physically fit people sweat more and faster. Also sweating is hard to measure, in the dry heat I sweat but in hot and humid I am really drenched with sweat because it does not evaporate as fast.

That said, how do you objectively measure sweating?

I sweat a lot, whether winter or summer. Twenty below, and cutting trees...I sweat. Don't mind sweating if I can dress for it, and add a dry red kerchief or sweat band on occasion. I find that in cold weather, I put on silk underwear top with wool shirt over. That has been the best solution to being comfortable while working and sweating in the cold.
Am in reasonable physical condition, reasonable weight, and not diabetic. Doc says not a problem, and no pill to take to lessen it.

So onward.

Don't recall that there has been a sudden change, or that it has gotten worse over the 70+ years.

We left Myrtle beach today about noon-- 98 degrees.. hit Columbia SC 102 hit Spartanburg--104... got to the bottom of Saluda Grade--- 102 got to the top of Saluda grade-- slight bit o rain--- 78 !!!!!

good to be home!!!!

I measure sweat by how much I don't pee. If I work outside all day and drink as much as I want and never have to water a tree, I know I've been sweating!

jimmyj-- Yes!! I thought it was weird, too.

I'm slim, not at all overweight, over 60 now. NEVER used to sweat much at all. Blood pressure's always been low, no problems there, remain in pretty good physical condition. Don't take any meds. Couldn't take the cold very well, but warm weather never bothered much... until about 8 years ago.

Remember being a bit surprised when I actually sweat enough to make a wet spot on the back of my shirt, through a t-shirt. I was in full combat gear, all web belts/packs, with M-14, on a fast march through 14" deep loose sand at Fort Dix, NJ in late May (about 90 degrees)....:laughing:

Not any more! Now, once I start sweating I have to wear a sweatband just so I can see!

I figured it was just age, but some folks have suggested to me it's the coffee...?? At any rate, I really avoid being outside when it's hot & humid, if I can. Being able to mow the lawn with a MMM in an hour vs. 3-5 hrs with a walk-behind mower has been a huge help. I got so I just couldn't do it all in one day, had to space it out over 2 days.. but not any more!:thumbsup:

Yeah...if I'm shoveling snow off my driveway (when the blower isn't working) I'm sweating no matter how cold it is.
