Do you Text message while driving the tractor

I don't text because it cost more money. If I did text on the tractor, COULD YOU USE ALL CAPS? I have to yell at my wife when I am on the tractor. If I turn it off she talks alot longer. Also I tend to loose things, so I keep my phone in a storage compartment on my tractor for a "just in case" thing. JC

I can answer a 'text message' when I have the time.

I guess that's as good a reason as any. If someone happens to call at an inopportune time I'll utilize the "voicemail" feature and return the call when it's more convenient. I also shy away from from the texting as it costs me extra on my particular plan as mentioned by a fellow TBN'er in above post. I just like the talking thing better, texting is way too hard on me. I suppose if I had a "Blackberry" or similar device better suited to texting it would be more enjoyable.

Tractor time is MY TIME, no wife, no kids, no employees, no salespeople, no phone calls, no faxes, no email, no computer, no texting....just me and the machine.

I have plenty of time for all that other stuff LATER.

I do not text. Well, have twice...

I can't hear or feel the phone when the tractor is running . Unfortunately, I can not hear or feel my fire dept pager either when on the tractor.

Just think, it was only 20 years ago or so when most of us did not have these new fangled cell phones. And, if we did, they were a shoebox sized contraption. How did we live without them?

Heck I have trouble typing on the laptop
However many of us OLD FARTS have to realize these kids now days have learned to do it young. Most can type with a 10 key pad faster than we can talk!
My oldest daughter tried to give me a blackberry so I could type faster heck I hit 3 keys at a time on the laptop I can hit 10 on her blackberry

That said, I'm a dinosaur when it comes to this stuff. Never had a cell phone, and don't really have a use for one...

They don't wait till their out of school.

Actually texting is very handy. I have customers text me their addresses as well as other information so I don't have to worry about remembering or trying to find something to write with and on while in the middle of the field. Most people don't look at the positives of technology, only the negatives and I don't understand why. I love being able to easily be in contact with the entire world at a moments notice. I can come on here and ask a question while it is fresh in my mind while in the middle of the fields, I can read and reply to e-mails, text my family and customers (who have texting ability) as well as call people. The best part is I don't have to do any of this if I don't want to but I can. The options are great to have and can be very useful.

I have asked people to not text me so much as I got tired of the useless stuff people would send. Now the main people I text with are my wife to be and family. We can text when it is convienent.

I agree texting and cell phones are a great thing to have. It's just that some people think they have to have them in there hands 24 hours a day or the world is going to end
I have mine with me during the day but will only answer if i'm not busy with someone else at the time. I figure if i miss the call and they don't leave a message it was not that important and i will return the call when i get time.

Texting??? What's that? A phone is to talk on. In reality I have texted a few times. Probably could count on one hand the number of times. In some ways I think technology has taken over our lives and we live shorter lives because of it. How many have almost had, or had and accident while texting or the other driver was texting while driving? I have on a number of occasions had near misses because the other driver was more intent on telling someone what a great day they had rather than driving. If I need to call or am called on my cellphone I keep it as short as possible.
