Do you wave?

In our neck of the woods....we all wave......often stop for a short conversation....chew the fat. Was in So. Calif. last week.....nobody waves except with their middle finger.....course....if I had to drive in that traffic everyday....might do the same thing!

Around home yes. About the only wave you get in the city is that middle finger type of wave. In west Texas everyone is a waver, I mean ever car you meet gives a full wave. I am a nod my head waver, mostly.

I wave at the pickup trucks and the farm trucks. They always wave back. We live close to a college town. I can spot a college car. The college folks have head phones on, are combing their hair, fiddling through their console, texting, and eating big macs. All while looking in the rear view mirror to make sure their hair is combed properly. They wouldn't see me.

For some reason ???? my wife wants to go to New York City just for a one time experience of hailing a cab. I told her they don't do that anymore because there's an app for that now. I think I might have dodged that bullet.:D

I think I heard on the radio just last week that they're still working out the bugs but that trials are on and full deployment should happen sometime this year.

You should take the wife TX.... Like Betty Comden says..."it's a helluva town!!"

I wave when I am driving by, both in the truck and on the tractor. People, dogs, cats, deer. The exception is people with a trash filled yard.

I use to pass a herd of cattle standing in the edge of the river on hot days while out in my Donzi, I'd toot the horn and moo at them! of course back then most outings were accompanied by adult beverages.:D

I think we've all mooed at a few cows...
though some videos show folks playing violins to them.

Were you on a Sweet Sixteen? Or one of her larger sisters?

Viewing most everything from the water, particularly up a river or even a creek, can be
kind of intimate. We once quietly floated by a wedding ceremony on the back lawn.
And when the band started to play at the end, we tooted our Buehls and puttered off for
something else to check out. Unlike walking by someone's property on foot, which might be a concern,
if you are a boat on the water, and quiet..., you are usually seen as a friend.

Lots of waving from boat to boat, and boat to land. Lots.

whoa baby, that's not boating, that's flying.
Not a Sixteen for sure, that's her big Momma with
Big Bubba in the engine bay. Nice boat.
Low to the water, sleek, a big girl on the prowl...

Thirsty girl too. I tried to keep feeding 900 hp of diesels in mine, and it almost broke me.
On to the next happy owner and I kept the dinghy, our Scout 16 double console.
many hours on the Chesapeake in that, including many nights seeing the sun go down over Baltimore, out at the end
of the Sassafras River, sitting in our "little boat" with the engine off and just watching the occasional boat speed by up the channel.

Or even better, sometimes a megayacht anchored out at the mouth of the River, which always attracted the looky lous.
And the uniformed staff would wave politely, once. They needed to look busy... and one was usually stationed on the vast swim platform
to fend off boarders I assume. Hey Buddy, got any Grey Poupon?

With the hull mods that included updating to a vented style with a slight step near the stern, it would run roughly 88 n/a and 94 on the N20. My wife, brother and his wife and I were in the Elizabeth river between the Portsmouth and Norfolk shipyards when John Straluppi's 110' 72 mph Kamewa jet drive diesel yacht came into the river, his twin tenders swinging on the stern cranes we're Z22 Donzis. That was around 1988. That is boating in style!
