Do you wear a hat?

If wearing a hat makes you go bald I need to wear ear muffs, its moved from the top of my head to my ears.

Some people look really stupid wearing hats. I am one of them. My wife laughs at me when I wear a hat and it scares our dogs to death. I only wear a hat when fishing from a boat or in the winter. That's because I would look even worse without ears.

Hair started leaving early twenties. I'm the first one to know when any type of precipitation is falling. But that's OK, no hair makes me more aerodynamic. I do wear a knit pullover in winter and ball caps in the summer.

I usually wear hats because of bad hair days :D Typical is a DU baseball style cap or my Fire Dept baseball style cap. Have a few others for getting dirty or on the tractor. Oh, and a few BSA caps from various camps.

I DONT wear hats/ball caps backwards.

The hat comes off, no matter how bad a hair day, at the dinner table, at a restaurant, camp dining hall etc.

I wear the standard ball cap when working around the tractor. For dress I switch to the Boy Scout western(cowboy style) hat.

I wear a ball cap or hat for two reasons. First is to keep my balding head from burning or freezing. Second is to have a weapon in case I stir up a bunch of yellow jackets or hornets while bush hogging. Be surprised how you can keep them at bay while you escape!

I wear a ventilated Hat when out doing tractor work or gardening, and maybe on occasions I'll wear a smokers hat when going out somewhere fancy, But not much on everyday wearing them, simply because I think they make you prematurely loose hair, Back in the '90s I worked a young man was in his mid 20's, He always wore a cap, he had long hair hanging out from all around it ,one day on the way to work he was setting in the rear seat of truck , I happen to get a glimpse of him through the rear view with his hat off while scratching his head, I was amazed on How Bald his head was on top when having so much hair hanging out, Needless to say he carried a nickname of Baldy from that day on:D ....... How many of you can relate to this?;) and is it due to wearing a hat/cap?

The good Lord only made a few perfect heads - the rest He put hair on!

I always wear a wide brimmed hat, Akubra in winter, resistol straw hat in summer. Working in the sun all day without one....wow. You would be lucky if a hospital visit wasn't on the cards at the end of the day. I also have a 4 gallon water bottle, on mild days it might last me 3-4 days. When it's hot I refill it every day.

There is a saying in Australia...Never trust a man who does not have enough brains to wear the hat the right way round.........Unless he's a welder..then all is forgiven :)

when outside I generally have a hat on, also when driving. Depending on conditions I vary the hat. Baseball style for driving and general stuff. If I'm spending hours in the sun, I have a wide brim hat that covers my ears as well my neck. Same hat has a tongue pull from the brim that completely covers the neck. Winter time usually a knit cap.

I have a head full of hair but it's cut very short so I proceed as though there were none.

I also am one who generally takes his hat off indoors and always at the table.

In this country, too.

Stress is another reason hair falls out but normally will grow back when cause of stress is remedied.

Some years ago, I saw an extreme example of that. A fellow who had a full head of brown hair lost it all and became bald as billiard ball. Then his hair came back in snow white. He changed jobs and gradually got back his full head of brown hair.

Personally, I've never liked wearing a hat or cap, but I frequently do. I have one wide brimmed hat that I wear if I'm going to be out in the hot sun for such things as mowing the yard. I have lots of baseball caps that I wear for the eye protection in the sun on cooler days, and I have stocking cap, as well as a cap with a bill and flaps to come down over my ears if it's really cold out.

Yep, a base ball type. Almost any time I am away from the house.

I guess I spent too many years in the Military to ever be outside uncovered. As you can see from my Avatar, even friends know what gifts I always enjoy

As has been previously mentioned, wearing hats does not promote baldness, but baldness may very well lead to wearing hats. My personal hat habits are to protect my bald pate from the elements. As such, I have several hats to fill the ranks:

Typically, I wear a Coolmax brimmed, cotton painter style hat for working in the factory (helps reduce fluorescent light glare and improve concentration), or any number of free implement dealer hats around town in the spring, summer and fall, or when driving.

When on the tractor or spending long hours outside around the farm(spring, summer, fall), I typically wear my trusty wide brimmed truck tarp canvas hat. (the Real Deal, Brazil) Very tough, repels water, branches, sun, black flies, etc...

When the weather turns cold, I usually grab my felted wool stocking cap. Very toasty, yet breathable. If the wind picks up, I may switch to the classic mad bomber hat.

When in my own house, I hang my hat on the peg at the door. When going to a restaurant, I usually put my hat on my knee under the table.

With a great dome, comes great responsibility.

When I started on the police department in 1964, we were required to keep that uniform cap on at all times outdoors, and that included when we were in the car, and of course in those days our squad cars were not air-conditioned. That was not a popular rule.:D
