not that cold here, we had 51 days contiguous of zero to minus 22 below.. I suppose we could move to a colder climate if we become so moved.. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just so I'm clear... are you saying you had 51 days in a row that were zero or below in CT? Was this last winter? We had some cold in Mass but no where near that streak! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Yes, the count overall for the season was 51 at zero or below. a rare year with almost no snow,, From the old avg of 114 to 30 last season. Secondly, Union CT, Holland MA, and the southern border of Sturbridge MA is much higher than most realize. Same as Worcester airport fluctuating here between 800 and 1100 above MSL.. The biggest thing is we are 77 miles from the ocean water, and a perfect position for the winds and usually much higher snow fall than the rest,, On two Hartford stations they frequently mention they " talk about the western hills" where in fact, Union is much colder and much more snow than the western hills area. (Again, usually and not always) We also live right on a reservoir that is wide open and the wind is pretty consistant which as you know, brings the temps down , and the chill factor way down.. It is mostly due to our position, up high, and distance from most storm eyes that does this. We went through a tremendous amount of oil last year, as did everyone living here be it oil, electric, wood, or other,,, I prefer the large amounts of snow vs consistant zero or below
