Cowboydoc (and all other moderators),
I am making this post with the intent of trying to learn the rules better, and not trying to cause the issue to flame up.
As I understand it, the post was deleted by a moderator. Cowboydoc reiterates the rules in one post:
( No politics, religion, or joke lists. Keep it clean and friendly!)
I can see this call easily going either way, and wouldn't argue against either interpretation:
(1)I can understand where the cat "bathing suit" photo can be interpreted as a "joke" and therefore removed from the board
(2) I can also see where it would be deemed non-offensive and allowed to remain.
If this had been labelled a violation of the "jokes" clause, AND NO MORE, then I would fully understand (even though I may or may not not fully agree with) the moderator's stand.
However, the problem that I have with the removal of the cat photo is the label placed on the photo by two of the moderators. Moderator RobS implied that the photo was not family friendly, while Cowboydoc stated that ( There is no debating the cat picture was on the edge).
Even though I did not see the photo that was posted on this site, I saw a photo at work that I believe was the same one. It showed two cats lying (sleeping?) on their backs the way cats and dogs sometimes do, and the cats were wearing bikini bottoms with multiple matching bikini tops (either real or digitally added after the photo was taken).
Here's the part where I need help in order to avoid a possible violation of the TBN rules in the future:
I consider myself to be a very conservative person and fail to see anything offensive about the photo. What in particular was the offensive nature of the photo? Was it the addition of the bikinis, meaning that the same photo without bikinis would've been acceptable in a non-joke atmosphere? Was it the fact that the cats were laying on their backs? Was the cat's pose considered "suggestive"?
Thanks for your help understanding this issue,
Kelvin
