I saw your post.......nothing bad about it......there are many posts not related to tractors......in reality how many families sit down and read this site? I'm a little shocked that Junkman's photo post was deleted. I found it humorous(I doubt I'm the only one) & not offensive at all(I KNOW I'm not the only one). It's a sad state of affairs when some of us are SO sensitive we allow ourselves to become humor-impaired.

I will tell you that my girls are often on my lap or in the same room when I read this site. They both can read and often do what is on here. There have also been many teenagers over the years that have participated in these conversations.

And would they have been traumatized by seeing the harmless pic of the kitty with multiple bathing suit tops on?

As an aside, my Canadian wife thinks the U.S. is so weird in this respect. We have no problem letting kids watch people getting blown up, tortured, beaten, shot, beheaded, etc., but God forbid they should see a female breast. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The kitty pic was really cute.. and it had already been sent to me by multiple other people who found it cute. Oh well, even a moderator is entitled to screw up occassionally. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The problem was not that the kitty picture was "immoral". It was not tractor related. Yes there is other stuff I'm sure still on here that is non-tractor related. You have to realize that some of the moderating is hit and miss. We all have regular jobs and do this on a volunteer basis. We are going to miss some stuff. That is why the notify moderator button is there. The photo page specifically states:

Upload photos here! Tractor and equipment photos, as well as any other related photos!

Certainly I don't see how anyone could relate that to tractors at all. It's a joke and jokes are not allowed on the site:

No politics, religion, or joke lists. Keep it clean and friendly!

Yes there are some jokes and pics that get by I know that. But just remember there are only a few of us reading thousands and thousands of posts. We do not or have even singled anyone out to specifically read their posts. We do what we can, read all we can, and try and keep the site running the way it was designed to be, talking about tractors.

I think we all, myself included, need to remember we are guests here. None of us pay for anything for this great site. As guests we need to abide by the rules of the house. I think the only reason this site does so well is because it is kept clean and focused on tractors. Rob did the right thing and if I would have seen it I would have done the same.

C'mon cowboydoc............read any posts made lately in the related topics or photo areas. Tell me that they are all tractor related....or find 20% of them that have been.
I know the intent is to NOT restrict the members here that far, but to say it was deleted because it wasn't related is stretching it, in my shallow mind.

I think 'we' as a group have digressed a lot from the tractor related issues. I also think the 'powers at be' have been very lenient with the diverse topics that 'we' discuss and the pictures that 'we' post. Every once in a while 'we' need to be brought back to home plate or the focus of this great website will become forever blurred.

Look there's no reason to debate this. We try and respect everyone here and do the best job that we can. There is no way you guys are going to agree with every call we make. Moderating is not up for public opinioin polls. Nobody every likes the referee in a game either. But they are absolutely essential to keep the game going on as fair of a playing field as possible. Calls are going to get missed and made and people are going to get upset. To put it very simply keep your post tractor related and non-offensive and there will never be a problem. When things go to the edge you force a moderator to make the call. There is no debating the cat picture was on the edge.
