Does FEL have to come off to replace clutch?

Glad you see the humor in my post.:laughing: A few years ago, I thought I would have to have my clutch replaced. The shop I was thinking of letting do it, said all the subframes had to come off. Since I have a backhoe too, I was dreading removing all that. The backhoe subframe is 1 inch thick plate. Instead I just adjusted the clutch and all is fine.

Thanks for the replies and your advice. Looks like the loader will be coming off before the tractor gets split. I will start another thread for the smartest and safest way to do this on the 1250.

Yep no worries. You have a large tractor, the OP is in the middle ground with mine small. My point was the loader stopped the front end from moving away while trying to re-join the pieces. Obviously they are not all created equal.

Looking back at the pictures I see I moved the front end around not the rear. I think I used the loader for leverage and the frame as a jacking point. Man the memory is an odd thing. Over 7 years ago, wow.

Yep............memories. Last Christmas vacation I helped a good friend change his Ford F250 engine out in my barn. I kept trying to remember R&R my 6 cylinder out of my F250 over 25 years ago. Some times............you just can't remember it all!
