Does Kubota discount new tractors?

I would get quotes from your 5 closest dealers in person. They will all be different and should be well under the website price. They may have something leftover that catches your eye on the yard. Sending ya a PM.

Sounds good but may not be helpful.

Dealers do talk to one another, even about specific customers.

Yes, collusion regarding pricing is blatantly illegal but it remains rather common practice.

And, sometimes the same folks own several dealerships... for example, in Pennsylvania, Messicks owns maybe 5 different dealerships, all selling Kubotas. The idea of having filters and fluids included as part of the deal makes perfect sense- the dealer can discount them without any self-inflicted pain, and you're going to need them down the road. Pricing will vary, for sure. I have gotten a tooth bar, wheel extenders, hydraulic stuff and tire chains from an ex-Kubota dealer who still owned inventory, all for less than half price. Years ago, I was able to buy a NOS Kubota power steering kit for a B8200 for about a third off list, but that was a lucky find.

I am in the process of buying a L5460. The price I have agreed to is about 16% less than the price on Kubotaç—´ website. It seems all the discount is on the tractor. The accessories (remote, third function, rear lights, etc) are close to list price.

That seems like a nice discount. Was it some old inventory they were trying to get rid of? Mind revealing the dealer name?

The tractor had been on the lot since January but had less than 1 hour on the meter when I first looked at it in early July. I was in the market for a 4760. The dealer said he would have to order the 4760 and the price difference would only be about $200 more for the 5460 which is essentially the same tractor with a turbo. He said there had been two price increases since January and he could sell the 5460 under the “old” price. I checked another dealer which was almost $3000 more.

Just a bit of info to help with your search. Most "new" Kubotas on a dealers lot are owned by Kubota, not the dealer. Not like car/truck dealerships. Prices do increase from time to time so a tractor sitting on the lot has a manufactured date and the price on that machine is usually fixed by Kubota for the dealer purchase price and then dealer can price it to a customer for however much they want. A new arrival or under production tractor also has a price to dealer fixed by Kubota. Some times Kubota will send the dealer an incentive discount figure which dealer can give to customer and also buy multiple Kubota "Stuff" and get some of the extras below dealer cost. Usually no money has changed hands between dealer and Kubota until tractor sells then the dealer gets their share whether customer pays cash or charges so the cash talks isn't true with Kubota new tractors. The dealer gets the same money for the transaction cash or charge. The customer can save money some times, not always, when Kubota offers a rebate/incentive of several hundred dollars for a cash purchase thus getting some people confused about the truth in the 0% financing. Kubota does not always offer the cash rebate/incentive and in those cases the 0% is a true 0%.
Shop around to find a dealer who is willing to make less markup than another dealer if you like doing that. Steve Barlow works off a small profit margin but isn't always the most charming graduate of charm school.:D I like him but after near 30 Kubota purchases from him I've gotten to appreciate his charming personality. He charges me the same as every one else and I don't get rush delivery. He just prices them right and doesn't negotiate. Those that think they have the power of the dollar and can rule the transaction will waste their time with him and he'll still sell enough to pay his bills and feel OK with no loss of sleep over losing a difficult customer who doesn't recognize and appreciate his good pricing.

When I was looking two years ago, Kubota's "build price" for a geared 3901 with loader was around $29000. I could have bought one for somewhere around $23000, delivered to my door. There also were a lot of incentives running then.
Like any large ticket item, they have to allow for other possibilities such as trade-ins so the MSRP is higher than what you might get one for..

PM me how you got a MX5200 for 24k please.

I went to four different dealers and they were all under list price, and they were all within $2,000 of each other, but one of them was low at $24,000 when the Kubota website showed 28th and change. I decided to buy from them and bought a rotary cutter 6-foot for $2,100 extra and a grapple for $2,400 extra and a loader for $4,500 extra.
