Does Kubota discount new tractors?

I purchased my third Kubota from the same dealer a couple months ago, having bought the first 30 yr. ago. Same salesman. He remembered me, quoted me a price a thousand bucks or so below what I'd seen on the K. web site. Then I asked whether there would be a discount for cash, and he said cash is king and he'd knock off another $750. I'd been planning on the 0% interest thing but that was too good to pass on. I was happy.

FWIW, I priced a new Compact Track Loader online and then my dealer beat it by $9k. Percentage wise, they did the same type of discount on tractors I priced which were an M4 and an M5.

If I remember correctly, I think I paid something like 15% off the 'build your Kubota' website page.

Shoot, out here they ADD 15% to the K build site! There are only 2 dealers that are 60-70 miles apart... they both do it. They know they have a captive market / customer.

I got 13% off the build site price, plus shop manual and supply's for maintenance out to 500 hours, 0% finance and no money down. What I would change is make dealer provide maintenance out 500 hours either on site or pickup. Easy to bargain for dealer goodies. If they want list I say service for a couple of years if I used it a lot.

Kubota advertises this in various mag's. so very common knowledge around here
Plus negotiated free third function and no charge to change over some accessories I had that needed pin on mounts cut off and sqa plates welded on then repaint.

At that point it would be worth buying out of state.

That's what I did. I have a dealer three miles from me and will not discount a dime. I offered him the opportunity to meet a price I was quoted out of state and he refused. I bought the out of town tractor and I saved thousands including the trucking charge.

That was 20 years ago and several attachments, tractors, oil changes, hydraulic changes, etc that he has missed out on.

It always makes me scratch my head why business owners don't work with customers. They spend thousands of dollars to get customers in their door and then they do nothing to make a deal. This also just happened with the new Ford F250 I just purchased. I was sitting at the manager's desk, I showed him the 10K cash proving I was serious. I simply said I can get this truck 100 miles away for 10K cheaper do you want my business then match that price. He refused and that night I was driving my new truck from the other dealer.

My only answer is these people will get a paycheck the same regardless if they sell me equipment or not. Yes I understand some dealers perhaps buy equipment cheaper than others, so tell me that and tell me what YOU CAN DO and if it's close I'll buy local.

When will dealers realize that the entire country is in play when purchasing large ticket items. Take large RV's people from the entire country go to Florida to purchase RV's because the dealer their discounts the most.
