Does Seafoam work?

We had a 1997 Subaru Outback with 2.5L H4. It developed a part-throttle hesitation at around 145,000 miles. We put SeaFoam into the intake tract using a vacuum tube opening. It smoked out the neighborhood, but eliminated the hesitation.

We own a marina in Muskoka Ontario and have been using Seafoam for fifteen years with boats that we know are used very little (less than 15 gallons per season) by our clients. The boats are treated with Seafoam each fillup and have had no carb or injector issues; We believe to be better than fuel stabilizers in this application

I run aviation fuel in all two strokes @ 50:1, anything that gets ethanol I turn fuel valve off and run carb dry. Motorcycles and quads.

I tried sea foam in my Wheelhorse, still sounds like it has dirt in the carb every now and then at idle.
Heard good stuff about it though, just didn't work for me.

I had a generator that was just running terrible from not much use. I dumped a little SeaFoam in it and surprising to me it cleared it up. I don't know what it did, but I'm happy.

I like it. I use it frequently.

A friend of mine has a Champion 4000 watt generator with less than 20 hrs on it, that was stalling all the time. It would run for a couple of minutes, then shut down. It would re-start OK though, run awhile, then stall again.
I had a look at it, decided it was a fuel issue. I took off the float bowl and it had what looked like orange Jello in the bottom of the bowl. Cleaned that out and sprayed some aerosol Seafoam on the needle and seat and into the carb throttle body. I put a third of a can of Seafoam in the gas tank and started it up. Gave a few more shots of Seafoam into the carb as it was running, just enough to not stall the engine. Genny ran fine after that. Tested under load, no more stalling problem. Any carb cleaner would've likely worked in this situation, but I have had good luck with Seafoam.

This thread again? Seafoam was developed by a boat mechanic in MN who during WWII seen motor after motor with gummed up carbs. Its still a MN based co today. Do note, there was no alcohol in fuels at that time. He developed it to stop fuels from deteriorating when in contact with oxygen and doing that to a engines fuel system. Gasoline goes bad when in contact with oxygen and over time.

It works and I use it in all my seasonally used engines which may sit for a while. Draining the fuel doesn't work, since you can't get it all out, short of disassembling the system. I don't use it to clean systems out.
