I like your drawing and have had the same problem, raking more dirt than trash. But what would you make the tines out of so they would'nt bend easily?

If I make them out of high strength steel that is think enough in the direction that is parellel to the pull they shouldn't bend. Wish I could weld....

I have seen (in Gainesville Florida) a rake with heavy "wire" tines made by Lienbach ('not sure of that spelling). I think it's a pine-straw rake or a (pecan) grove rake.

Build your own. I have a design in mind using some used railroad ties that I have. A 6' rake with 2 rows of railroad ties alternatly spaced a couple of inches apart. Mount them with clips on either side of a 2" or 2.5" length of square tubing. It would most likely do exactly what you want.

I assume you mean railroad spikes? Sounds like an idea!

Yea, I said ties, I meant spikes. And yes, they will work quite well.
