Here's some FWIW advice: Don't buy dog food from a grocery story. All of the big name brands are crap!

As recommended before, check out Dog Food Reviews and Ratings | Dog Food Advisor. I feed my dogs Tractor Supply's 4Health dry food topped off with their canned chicken, turkey and beef stews. The dry is $1 a pound. There are certainly more expensive foods out there - some are easily as high as $2 a pound. I can buy boneless chicken at the store for that kind of money!
