I am using a string between the tank and the barn to level the area. I can never really get this totally right, so I dug down a bit more and will fill with the pile of dirt behind the area. Roll or tamp it in real good, fix some drainage in the area, and put in the smooth pebbles.

Danny,
Have you ever cleaned up dog droppings off of pebbles? It may be fine but it conjures up images in my mind. I like concrete, it works much better with a pressure hose and disinfectant. IMO
A trick I learned with a German Short Hair that I had, I fed the dog the Science Diet from the Vet. It cost more up front but the dog ate much less, the dog was much healthier, the food was not loaded with bulk fillers and the dog did not poop his weight every week.

I have--I did a small "backyard" area immediately behind my house with pea gravel over landscape fabric. A primary use of the area is a bathroom for my (indoor) dog. Haven't had any problems keeping it clean...

#1. wifes dog, she does that
#2, dog will not "go" in his living area, he has to be walked for this. Have never found a place in his area where he went.
#3, wifes dog, she does that.........just a reminder to her!!!!!!!!!!!

Danny,
Ah, I get it..........WIFE'S dog. Now I understand. Low budget, save money for manly things and let wifey clean up after HER doggy.

Low budget my can. This FREE dog has cost me so far, 300 for the pen, 100 to move the tank, no telling what in toys, food, and the things I dont know about. Only good part, I got about 3 hours on the bota today, then it started raining, so I hooked up with my neighbor and got the garage door opener up..........after having it for 2 years.

Yeah it is the wifes dog, but my pain. He is a good dog and she is happy to have him...................so that means I am happy to have him, so that makes it all OK. But she still gets to clean up after him.

Then some dipstick on a bota bent the top rail on one peice. Lucky for him I have another peice. My neighbor helped me very much to get this done. It is great to have good neighbors, and one that is good with tools is great.
