There is no better person than someone who adopts a dog from a shelter or rescue and gives them a forever home.
I agree. Cats too (don't forget them!).
People who love animals are good people. Animals are basically good while most people are good, but there are some really bad people unlike animals!
To me this is an interesting story: my dear wife grew up in the city, although spent all the time she could with her beloved grandparents on their farm. In the city where she grew up it was a nice middle classed area.
One lady across the street had pets, very likable person but unassuming. She was eccentric and I always remember she drove an old Buick. Very frugal and she had no children.
When she passed she had a will drawn up leaving everything to the humane society...except it was to build a new no kill facility. It's named after her and to everyone's surprise this lady was wealthy...you should see this facility!!!!!
Well staffed, money also left in perpetuity so animals get medical treatment and fed.
We adopted a cat a year ago that's fantastic.
So in the end this lady's legacy lives on...she had enough money while alive to have the most expensive car, house, clothes but her way was better.

We had the mutts out skiing today. What did you do to get your dogs some exercise?

That is some nice exercise for them ... during the winter I play hockey in the street with my dog, he got obsess with hockey pucks lol throw a ball he will walk to go get it, slap a puck and he give everything he got.... he must be Canadian lol ... we sometime bring him along for horses rides … but cant wait for summer he love swimming so he follow us while we go kayaking we put his life jacket for longer swim of course and its really good exercise for him.

I'd suggest getting a dog training book and they largely all say the same thing. If you trian your dogs to do various commands, then they will look to you for protection. Dogs in general will bit other dogs and poeple, when they think you the owner, aren't up to the challenge of pack protection.
