My daughter brings her dog when she visits. This was a couple days ago, my feet in the pic. It a rescue dog, a mix.

I lost him a week ago he was 15+ and my sole companion as my wife has been in a nursing home for two years with advanced Alzheimer’s Baron kept me sane at least he no longer hurts and I’m just a lonely old man that misses them both

After a hard day in the field, my Springer is thinking a bath, good chow and a nap are in order. But she still needs to protect the family compound and the people in it. One eye open and she's got this.




And for New Year's Eve? No thanks. Just her favorite chair, favorite blanket, towel and pillow. One eye open, just to make sure everything is OK. Good.

Our kelpie/blue healer gets cold all the time, doesn't seem to have ANY insulation so we put a coat on him. Our Border collie will get chilly at zero. Not see Lulu the Labrador puppy chilled yet.

Our Chihuahua mix wears a sweater when temps hit mid/lower 60's and when not found in one of her chairs covered up she can usually be found sitting on a heat register. Usually the one in the bathroom.

When she goes outside it sometimes can remind you of a kid so bundled up they can hardly move. Two or three layers and sometimes even a scarf but she is happy and trips are usually short.

So sorry for your loss. He looks like he was living the good life. Maybe an other companion is in your future.

I was reading a dog training forum and someone asked what coat they should buy for their lab since the temperature had dropped into the 30s.

Someone that asked that question has never hunted water fowl with a Lab.
A Lab will jump into water with thin ice on top just to retrieve. Swim back,
look at you like "what's next"?
