Dogs in Lowes Store

Nothing new I think. Folks have been bringing dogs into stores for as long as I can remember. Especially places like Lowe's or Home Depot. As long as they don't serve food, or other health related businesses, I doubt there's any "rules" other than what the store owner wishes it to be. If the store owner is fine with it, and the dog is moderately well to well behaved (and on a leash), I don't see an issue. We have 4 large dogs (Labs), but we very rarely ever take them anywhere (except once in a while to the pet feed store, and those folks know us well and always ask us when we're bringing them back if we DO leave them home).

Raised on farm with all kinds of animals including dogs, no dogs in stores nor festivals.

I was raised with dogs, cats, goats, cows, hogs, horses, chicken and mules. I am not a fan of dogs in stores but understand pet stores. I carry my grandchildren in those stores and not comfortable with them as their mother had strong allergy to dogs. No doubt the vast majority of time no issue but their dog and any child does not know each other and I agree with the liability of the animal owner and also the store. This is a changing world, we use to take our children with us and keep them in the house and now it is the animals in the house and the children thrown out and we wonder why they turn out as they do.

Lately I have been seeing more and more people bringing their dogs into Lowes while they shop. They are not service dogs, just regular pets. One guy was picking lumber, and his dog crapped all over the floor in a number of places. I was going to buy some 2x but not that day. I'm not anti-dog but come on, it's a store.

That reminds me of an incident I witnessed in a local Canadian Tire store several years ago. A young kid about 8 or so crapped himself and shook the turds down his pants leg. FYI...Canadian Tire stores are often referred to as Crappy Tire...rightly or wrongly depending on your experiences with them...but that day Crappy Tire was truly aptly named! :D

I can't recall ever seeing a dog being more problematic (or even close for that matter) in a store than many a kid and quite a few adults but I also never considered taking my dogs into a store for all the reasons many have already stated.

Right, kids shouldn't be allowed in stores. What if someone slipped on those human turds and fell and injured themselves. OMG !!!!!

I once saw a mini horse in tennis shoes in a HD store and it was the most popular thing in the place.

I bet my dog gets more smiles and hellos in a HD or Lowes than anyone on this thread that says dogs shouldn't be allowed there.

When I saw her, she,her husband,a drunk and the store manager were in a fist fight. Seem's the drunk customer told her"that's the ugliest baby I ever saw". The lady burst into tears and screamed"I'm getting my husband from the parking lot to come whip you." The manager overhead them and said"go get your husband maam,I'll watch your goat while you are gone".
That's funny. Goats are ugly, why was she offended?

I used to raise an eyebrow when I saw dogs with owners at HD. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I was being 'stuffy'. I love dogs and not one has caused me any grief in a store. To me, they are like kids. And I know more than a couple dogs that behave better than kids in public. I have to admit, I don't like the little yappy ones... dogs that is. :D

I guess I should be surprised that they let me in the stores. I most usually have cow poo on my boots and lower pants legs - kinda goes with the territory.

You don't like dogs in Lowes - show your dislike - shop somewhere else.

Something wrong with people who don't like dogs !!!

If you ever go to Europe, you will see dogs under the table at most restaurants.

Go to France - dogs are allowed anywhere, stores, airports probably even in Church.
