Dollar Store Going up in My Home Town. Pop 150

Hamburg is 30 miles from Harrisburg. There is Bass Pro in Harrisburg and Baltimore. The Cabelas in WV is in Wheeling.

Around here 30 miles is pretty far. :laughing:

Love those dollar stores and you will also...pretty sure they just, not too lon, ago started accepting credit cards too.

I drive 50 miles to work one way, so 30 is just getting the car warmed up. :laughing: 2 hrs for me to get to Cabelas.

We had dollar general come in a couple yrs ago. One 6 miles down the road in a location that could never keep a store. Been there a few times.

They just put in a grocery store one here in the next little town over........IT IS BOOMING.....better than going all the way into town...18 miles to one and 20 to another..........It is gonna do well.......God bless.......Dennis

Debit or Credit. which ever you want to use.

I guess there are not too many places anymore that do not take credit cards. However, one of the newer places in this area is the Aldi grocery stores. A few months ago we happened to be driving by one and just went in to see what it was like and there were a few pretty good prices, also some brands we'd never heard of, and we learned that they take debit cards, but no credit cards. I'll be surprised if that lastss long.

Bird, my wife has gotten hooked on shopping at Aldi's. Her best friend got her to go with her once and now she drops by there every time we're in the area. In fact I have a sack of those plastic grocery bags in the trunk of my car. Many items are made by well known labels but under private label. I like their concept on the buggies. You pay to use them any get your money back when you return them inside. Smart idea.

Our nearest Aldi's is on the other side of the lake and a bit far for us to use regularly, but it did appear that they had some bargains, and I certainly agree with their practice of charging for the cart and getting your money back when you finish.
