well i have some good news I think, I just got my temp gauge and volt gauge in and the new batt installed and also a new thermostat, it was a 71c and a 72 came out of the tractor, but a 71c was all i could find, the tractor runs at around 170 to 175 deg, when warmed up at 900rpm it was 33psi oil pressure and 175% at 1500rpm it was 48psi and 170% and at 2200rpm it was 65psi and 172%, it still did that valve pressure drop thing when it tryed to go over 65psi but I would have to be hitting almost 2400rpm, that made me feel so good I went out and bought myself a nice new echo srm 225 strait shaft weed wacker from the home depot
I'm not an expert but that sounds pretty good to me. How does it drive?
My experience and observation, from my own tractor and reading about others, is that if you have good cooling and oil pressure there's nothing that can go wrong with these engines. If you don't have good cooling and oil pressure everything can go wrong.
