Can't figure why someone would need to wear their wallet while mowing. It's kinda like wearing jewelry while playing sports. Silly.

That's so they can identify the body of those people operating their tractors WITHOUT ROPS and SEATBELTS...

Well for me it's not about need. From the time I get up in the morning and get dressed until I shower in the evening my wallet stays with me. If it wasn't chained to me I'd lose it or it would get stolen from my truck. I would rather have my wallet run over by a mower than stolen with cards for all my business and personal bank accounts as well as credit cards and ID. It's easy to replace destroyed cards, a bit tougher when they are stolen or lost.

I am a Ralph too, only in PA, though I was born in VA.

I to take my wallet out on a long drive like David. But it's always in plain sight. When paying with AMEX at a resturant, I keep it on the table until I get the CC back, otherwise I'd forget that.

If I took it out and placed it anywhere but on my butt, I'd lose it for sure!

I don't have a personal wallet story, but you reminded me of one that happened while out bow hunting with some friends. This guy with us had two small bucks come right up to him while he was sitting behind a tree that he didn't want to shoot. Too small. Behind them was a good buck that he did want to shoot, but couldn't get a clear shot at because of the small bucks. He looked around, but couldn't find anything to toss at them, so he tossed his wallet at them. It worked, except it scared off all of the deer.

He then spent the rest of the morning trying to find his wallet. It was camoflage. At noon, we all met up and he told us the story, so the four of us went to where he was and tried to find it. We never did. It just totally vanished!!!

A bowhunter with nothing to throw. Extra arrows, I carry 2 flashlights, binocluors(sp?), knife, camera, fanny pack, cushion, etc. Heck in October a shoe or boot! In the heat of October...I usually hunt in tennis shoes.

On the arrows I always carry 2 fieldpoint arrows for test short, raccons, etc.
