Don't pump gas on May 15th. 2007

Fellow TBN members,

In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places .

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companys pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldnt) resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

BUt what happens on the 16th when ALL of the 15th ppl and the 16th are at the pumps.. They will quickly make up their 'loses'... And think about the convenience store owner that doesnt sell the hi profit candy/drinks since we are not going to get gas.. Im sure they will also feel it in the pocketbook.. Too many days of not selling anythign will cause them to close.. Who wins then?

sorry to be so negative.. I just dont see the merit in these sort of things..

I'll probably fill up on the 15th as usual. This will do nothing for the reasonably low price of fuel in this country. You want high fuel prices, go overseas.

I will make it a POINT to fill on the 15th ... rather than whine about fuel/energy/petroleum based costs, I have hedged my costs with investments in "energy" stocks ... so far, for some time, I'm way ahead of the game, and snicker at minimal raises in fuel costs

If people actually reduced their annual consumption by a days worth, maybe there could a little impact. If people just shift their consumption to the day before or the day after, what impact couldit possibly have?

Looks like the 15th IS the time to fill up - NO LINES...

I'll go along with it.

Here's my thought. We all know aprox 6 or more people closely right, and those people know 6 people closely etc etc - you get my point.

How quick does 6x6x6x6x6x6 add up to. With just 9 calculations of 6 you contact 60,466,176 people, that your know and they know.

So why don't we have the power to effect change, Oh, wait I know it's called apathy, and the peole who sell to us know that.
