lat winter we had one get into the house. the chimney has opening in basement where old wood/coal stove used to be back in the day. the cover was poor shape and one must have fell in after sniffing the Carbon Monoxide, our Husky Lab mix hates them squirrels and went nuts trying to get him when he made it upstairs. it was close to getting ate about 6 times prior to getting back into the basement. I got out a live trap and stuck it into the basement and got him by morning. he was same one that tormented the dog in the back yard for last couple years I think. big ole boy for sure. I set cage at base of tree and had dog out to watch him split up tree. was funny as heck watching the dog get tormented by the squirrel in the cage... squirrel seemed to know he was safe in the cage then I opened the door he about crapped himself... The dog was wanting to stick his head in there for a snack but I tipped it up against the tree and set back & watched the fun. it ran maybe 10 feet up the tree then turned around and barked louder at the dog than the dog was barking.
