I wanted to get a key cut for my old Kubota.

Was too hard for them so I went to Kubota Dealer and bought one.

Yes same key works in ALL old Kubotas.!!!!!!!!

Took the starter fuse out the first night I owned my 3010. Went back the next day and opened the case to put it in and noticed what I had missed the night before... There are a few extras taped inside the cover. LMAO.

Here is a sure fire way to stop it from being driven off. Take ANY 3 point hitch implement half off. They will never get it back on or fully off. Better than the club. Cars should have em too.

nope they are all the same, the key only shuts it off. i neede anothe key for my kubota and just went to the deale and told him the model and he handed me 2 keys for $6.35 woked just fine. so taking a key out is only to stop children for staritn the tractor. poor damm design no matter the make if u ask me.

A quick and easy one is to engage your PTO. The tractor won't start with it engaged. On my 3710 I have hit the PTO lever and it was not totally engaged just out of it's off position and it wouldn't start. I would do this to the Mid PTO because it is down lower and no one ever notices it.

Re: taking the key: Most tractor thieves can work around the key or fuse removal, they just jump the fuse. On the key, they just remove the dip stick from the engine, jam it into the key slot and turn it with pliers. It starts, they pull the stick out and put it back in the engine and way they go.

If they are prepared, which most are, a narrow long screwdriver works as well.

In Virginia we have had a problem with machine theft for a long time. Bottom line, if they want it, they will get it. It would slow them down (you too by the way) to remove the wheels, but it still won't stop them. the fact that it is a rural location only helps the bad guy. Some of the tips the guys are giving you might slow the guy down till your neighbor has time to react, but that is all.

So ... when is this neighbor at work ... and what is his address?/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

When we first moved in the neighbors in front of us asked if they could walk their dog on our property. I said "sure", as I really couldn't car less, and, I thought it might make people think that someone was home during the day.

I wish my L3010 would fit in the garage. I hate to leave it out all day. When I first got it I would park it behind the house so it was not visible from the road. Now it's kinda tucked into the woods.

I never liked parking out either. I keep ours under an overhang on the barn. Kind of a car port for tractors. Of course everything on our place is invisable from the road. This is actually a mixed blessing. Most honest folks don't bother us. A lot of dishonest folks show up to "see where the road goes." Well it isn't a road, it a driveway, and it's posted. I have heard some of the strangest stories to explain how folks wound up at the house or barn.If I were going to leave the tractor out I might go to a surplus store and get some camo tarps. What they don't see they won't steal.
