Re: don\'t tell the wife !

I figure that Kioti, Century/ Branson are similar to what Kubota was 20 yrs ago before their brand name fetched a premium....back in those days, Kubota was probably a good low cost alternative to JD / Ford, etc. I work for a guy who used to own a JD dealership. When I told him what I was getting my 40 HP branson for....he said that was the kind of money he used to get for JD garden tractor/lawnmowers. I'm pretty sure I would have had to pay at least 30-40-% more for the outfit I got if it was JD or Kubota. I'll use the savings for some cool implements.

Re: don\'t tell the wife !

When I started pricing tractors, I soon realized the farther I got from the southeast (except for texas)the higher the prices went. The northeast and california carry the highest prices. Also for kiotis the closer I got to North Carolina the cheaper they were. Florida had some good prices as well but was not worth the extra mileage. I actually find this quite interesting. I got my tractor in north carolina where the superbowl champs live. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif I hope I don't have to edit this later. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: don\'t tell the wife !

My purchase comparison was between a Kubota 5030HSTC and the Kioti DK45C. With options and everything else as equal as possible, the Kubota was 32,000.00 and the Kioti was 21,800.00. The main differences left were the Kubota was a hydro and the Kioti had the self-leveling loader. I really wanted the self-leveling loader for moving pallets. The hydro would be really nice, but $9000+ still in the bank looks even nicer. The tractor and cab are warmed up now and I'm off to push the first 6" of todays snow. Could wait and do it later all at once...... but whats the fun in that!!

Re: don\'t tell the wife !

If their prices are really that high you would have to be nuts to buy from them /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Re: don\'t tell the wife !

I have both a Hydro and a Shuttle the difference is worth maybe $500. But In a large tractor say above 35 horse I just feel better about a manual transmission. It seems I have more control over traction. In the hydro when the tires break loose the instinct is to press the pedal more. Your not quite sure in the instant if the tires broke loose or your just not pushing the pedal enough. Just MHO.

And a big congratulations on the new DK45. I am sure you will love it. And with a cab no less. I am not sure if I would ever get out of it.! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
