You may find there are 7-1/2' roll ups available. Maybe you could have the oil tanks replumbed to exit the front?

Here's some ideas. ( I replaced my 7ft tall with a 9).
1. Garage doors can be made for custom heights. The "custom" option was cheap!
2. Though 12" clearance is usually needed, a "low profile" kit that only needed around 7" of headroom was available.
3. If you want an opener, a liftmaster 8500 mounts on the side reducing center height needed.
( I also used a regular Craftsman opener for years mounted on one side next to the roller rail in order to keep the overhead clearance in the center as high as possible. It worked fine.

As for door types, don't forget the effect of wind on them. I had the french door style on mine and could not handle it without help when it was windy.

Unfortunately, I don't have a better place for the oil tank. I looked briefly at roll up doors. It looks like standard sizes are 7' and 8' but since its a roll up, I could probably go with a 8' and only use 7-1/2' of it. I will follow up on this more if that is the route I decide.

My previous experience was custom garage doors were expensive. I'm familiar with the low profile kit and that is what I would need if I went for a 7' door.

I'll need to look into the overhead clearance they require. Wind is not a real issue for me based on how my house and garage is situated.

The tank is in the space with really no where else to move it to.

Instead of a door, how about building a doorway any size or shape you want and hanging overlapping vinyl strips?

Thanks for posting. This is giving me an idea for protecting my tractor. Looking at the details though it says it is yellow. The strips look fairly clear to me. :confused3:
