Good luck with not destroying the trusses with that chain fall. Trusses aren't designed to take a vertical load, why in my shop I put a steel I beam lengthwise for the overhead crane. My beam is fastened to the sill plates that carry the trusses. I had a 1/4" thick x 6 foot long steel plate sheared that I welded pockets to, to carry the beam and the steel plate is lag bolted to sill plates with 12 lag screws spaced out.

My hoist is a 2 ton IR air operated unit on a trolley so it can move the length of the shop.

I had the same issue as you (lift height) and why I used a 4 x 5 round bale which gave me more vertical height than I needed anyway. Nice, tightly netted round bale...

Just an update, I have appreciated all the replies.
Long story short I have been derailed on something else but last Sunday it took myself and my wife less than 10 minutes to have the door sitting on it’s perch.
It made things tough because of the offset in relation to door opening to the chain fall set up but I wouldn’t have done it any other way.
Nothing else has been done as far as anything, it’s literally just sitting there with a couple of bolts but I hope to be back on this after my second electrical inspection this Fri.
Thanks again for all input
