I once had an Oliver OC3...
So would it have been a 'Calf Dozer?'
and the operator a Calf Skinner ?

Then we should wait 'til the 'dozer self gender identifies itself before naming it a Bull-dozer it might have preferred to be a COW dozer

Plain and simple "crawler"

My dad operated bulldozers in the 50's and 60's during his younger years and they just called them "Caterpillar" or "D7"
In those days a hired operator working in the boonies for a small outfit had to do all maintenance and repairs and he was always impressed by Caterpillar quality.

I've had this beauty for about 20 years!

1959 with 2-53 Detroit Diesel, or Jimmy - noisy bugger but sips fuel and generally gets the job done!

nice, I have a Caterpillar D2 for the last 8 years, put the correct blade on it and works great, kind of fun doing things the old way, its a 1951 model sadly not used it last couple years, easier to use the Bobcat turn the key and go, the D2 needs the pony motor running first then the diesel motor, lot of work but hopefully later this year I can fire it up

I came close to buying D2 at time, but it had a manual blade so I ended up with this (6-way hydr.) instead.

I know what you mean about starting up - my JD has electric start, but these GM engines never had glow-plugs in those days and no easy way to add them as far as I can see, so I added a block heater instead and it works great but need to be plugged in couple of hours before it's ready to fire up!

This old 2-stroke Diesel engine requires straight 40 weight low ash motor oil and it's no fun trying to start it cold.
