- Kubota L2501 w/ LA 525 FEL & LP1266 box scraper
Greetings from a new member. I've read plenty of helpful forums here before signing up. Thanks to all for that.
In Dec. 2016 I made the choice of a Kubota L2501 over the B3350. The option of a year-round cab in the Sierra foothills here was not part of my choice. Tractor weight was along with the fact that a mid-PTO was not needed since I'd use the tractor primarily for loader and road work. Having the DPF itself on the B3350 did not scare me away from that machine but the required Re-Gen program did. I sometimes only use the tractor for 15 minutes before I'm off on another chore or trip to town - I would dread having to baby-sit the tractor while it decides to Re-Gen just as I need to keep an appointment somewhere. While discussing the pros and cons of each of the 2501 vs 3350 with a dealer in Stockton he never mentioned that there had been a recall on the B3350s. He had every opportunity to fill me in on every detail of the issues of the DPF and Re-Gen but didn't bother to let me know of the history of the recall on that machine. I never called him back after I found out that info. So far, so good on my L2501 harvest return discounted tractor sold as new with a new warranty by a reputable dealer in Merced, CA. My wife now recognizes what a time and back saver "Dug" is.. She says 'Dug's a hunk'. The tractor should last a while having the benefit of living in the garage with the sports car since the 4x4 pick-up and high-top camper do not fit through the garage doors. My only regret is not having bought a tractor when we first moved to the mountains from the coast a few years ago.
