DR Field Bruch mower

I do not own one, but do rent one every year. I absolutely love it. I underestimated the power of this little machine. And yes, be prepared for a good workout. I use it to mow hiking paths and my property boundry along trees. And yes, it will cut pretty much anything it runs over.

Also, also before buying, make sure you find someone in your area that would be willing to service the machine and ask them if they can easily get parts.

I have owned the 14 horse for 6 years. It works great and Country Home Products really stand behind their products. Great company to do business with. Here is a picture of my DR and tractor. It is a great companion for the tractor :)

I use a older a DR cutter on a hillside and it's nice but I found that a walk behind sickle bar mower by troy built is a much better machine. Also much less of a work out using it. I'm cutting mostly tall grass or small dia brush so I really don't need the HP of the DR.

I've owned DR field and brush mowers for almost twenty years. My current model is a ten year old, with a 12.5 HP Techumsa engine, I bought slightly used for $950.00. There were some aftermarket modification made to it by DR. Even though I wasn't the original owner, they upgraded my machine at no cost.

About six years ago I gave my original DR, with the 8.5 HP Briggs Stratton, to my neighbor to use, and it is still going strong after almost twenty years.

I have never done business with a better company. I just bought one of their Neuton cordless lawn mowers, and it is really terrific, too. I love their policy of six month free trial on power equipment, and they pay return shipping on most items if you decide not to keep them.

I know this is a late post to this thread, but seeing all the complaints regarding the difficulty to use the DR made it irresistable. My 11 year old daughter used a 15 HP DR Brushmower and enjoyed every minute of it. She said it was so satisfying to watch that brush go down. Of course, she used it on flat property, no rocks and about 1/2 acre in size, but I don't want anyone to read this thread and be overly discouraged about using a DR Brushmower. I am sure there is some terrain that does indeed make the DR very difficult to use. They are great tools and I would have gotten the biggest one they had if I not had the option of the 2 wheeled tractors.
