Dragon 270

Just bought a one owner dragon 270,he bought it around 92 or 93,sheetmetal very straight,rear tires good org,both front new,now for the bad,rusted out muffler,and starter shot.
I am afraid of what it will cost.They had already replaced selnoid.Took starter apart and it looked bad.
I read post below,but no reply as to whether a starter was found or cost of it.
Anyone have any idea of cost?

Also got a 6' mf finish mower,5' box blade and 5' long brand tiller(what an oddball it is)


The old tractor ran well,we pulled it off and it fired right up.Loaded all equipment with it.Man are these things built a lot heavier duty than the newer china tractors.He said he had never retorqued head bolts.So i have done that and set valve lash.

If I can find a starter it will be ready to go.

Maybe you could get it rebuilt.

Tried to, took it to 2 different builders,one had passed and the other had one foot in grave.He was so weak he couldn't lift starter.He said it would be around 150 bucks and nearly 3 weeks because he had just got out of hospital.No others around

I need to turn this thing over while people still have tax refund money.

I tore it down armature was worn badly,brushes looked ok.

they told me that you would have to send them your armature because of the different ones used so they can match it up.

Do you have the number off the starter ? What engine is in the tractor ?

can't read numbers on starter tag.He did give me the two manuals with it,I will look in there to find number and get back with you.

That does not look like ay Chinese starter number I have ever seen,most Chinese starters start with QD or QDJ what about the engine ? Do you have a Manuf. name ,model

engine is a 295T

tommy farm boys never answer phone goes to automated system nobody will answer,masters wants 248 plus shipping and 85 core charge or more shipping charges to get it there,crap over 300 dollar for **** starter
ken sweet no longer deals with tractors
Any other ideas,may have to sell it needing starter

I have bought a couple thing from this store. Shipping is slow and expensive but it is as cheap as you will ever get it. They can get anything for that tractor. I have the same tractor in 4wd.
