drawbar meets rotary cutter.

Yes i am a knucklehead! Somehow, hogging a field i know inside & out, i managed to drop and run over my drawbar with the rotary cutter!

I noticed a semi square dent in the back of the rotary cutter when i was washing it down, the next morning i removed the rotary cutter to mount up the core aerator & i noticed my drawbar was missing. I returned to the feild and after a half hour of sniffing around i found it! I will post a photo of it this weekend. Hats off to landpride, i cant believe i did not break a blade!

Rotary cutters are almost indestructable. I ran over a large, large rock the other day while the neighbor was watching and waving with her toddler (from a good distance). You know the sound it makes. She looked like she was going to call 911, but the mower powered right back up and kept on going.

You didn't hear it?

Even with my hearing protection, I know when I hit something because it usually makes a pretty good bang. Just touch up the blad with a grinder.

I did hear it, i thought it was rock or brick, never would have guessed i had just ran over my drawbar. I did have the ac on and the tunes going. Factory cabs are great, but you do loose that special bond you feel to the land working open station. I worked open station tractors from 1978 to 2001. I was core aerating 5 acres of youth soccer fields in the fall of 2001, the sky opened up & poured rain, killed my cell phone and wallet! That was it for me, i called my dealer the next day and ordered a curtis cab for my B7500.

Earlier this spring I was tooling along with my 6' KK. All of the sudden I hit something which bogged down momentarily. I looked back and a small white tail deer was still in the air. Bambi meets Kubota. Totally shredded the little critter.

Oh yes one other true story thats actually true. Last year my ancient Woods Dixie Cutter 5' (being pulled by an 8N Ford) launched a piece of quartz about the size of a a canteloupe at least 30 yards right through my barn. Left a pretty clean hole.

Rotary cutters are effective but they scare me to death.

A friend of mine had his $250 String Trimmer in his loader and did not notice that a tree knocked it out when he was backing up. He then proceeded to run over it with the Bush Hog. The Bush Hot won.

I've ran quite a few deer, woodchucks, pheasants, quail, rabbits untold number of mice and snakes through my mowing machine while making hay. Interesting thing is that when you come back the next day, they are gone..........
