Here is a picture of my Ford Jubilee with the drawbar, drawbar stays, and blue colored drawbar lock installed. Notice the notch cut out on the lock. It is clearance for the stay. That means you can only put it on the left side. If you put it on the right side, the slot will be on the bottom. You could cut a slot in both sides, but you might not be using the stays, so it doesn't matter. By the way, most of these locks are a bit loose and your drawbar will still rotate some, but within limits.
