After making a draw bar stabilizer based on info from this forum, I found out that Leinbach Equipment in Winston Salem, NC (336) 924-4115 sells a stabalizer similar to the one Northern sells. Leinbach's price is $69.50 vs roughly $200 at Northern. I was going to Winston Salem tomorrow to pick up one, but we have snow in the forecast, so it may be later in the week before I get there.
The one I made does not have a 2 inch receiver, like the one on my truck. I just mounted 2 trailer hitch balls on a draw bar; then mounted the draw bar on an A frame. Welded 2 pieces of 1" square steel to the A frame to keep the draw bar from rotating. It works well, but like someone else said, you can not turn very tight. This is why I'm getting the one from Leinbach.
I priced buying a receiver and welding it to the draw bar. In the end, the price ends up being about the same: the A frame from Agri-Supply is $28.00; the draw bar is $13.00; the 2 inch receiver is around $30.00; miscellaneous bolts to put it all together are about $12.00.
