Back to the original subject of this thread -

The following link takes you to my solution to the problem - using only the original factory holes:

I tend to agree that some small holes should not really damage the ROPS. However, I did not want to do that on MY tractor!

I have since plowed the driveway in the dark many times, and they work great.

Hi Dennis, yes I saw that earlier, the only worry I have with it is that its a bit unprotected for the bush work I do (ie I've already replaced an indicator light), thats why I went for under ROP. Had my new lights working for 2 weeks now and am very, very happy - just by using 2 simple clamps and the existing holes in ROP to run the wire.

I never intended to create such a fuss when I started this thread....... but all the different ideas were helpful and the result is excellent. Cheers OzG

OzG -

Never worry about making a fuss when you start a thread to ask a question in this forum. There are several around who like to argue (and re-argue) the same old questions. I've seen a lot of threads that got way more ridiculous than this one.

Glad you came up with a solution that worked out for you, and that you got some helpful advice. That's what it's all about!

Remember, free advice (whether from me, or anyone else on here) is always guaranteed to be worth at least as much as it costs.:)

The reason I went against it, is because I want to mount my gopro camera on my ROPS sometime to video backing through large saplings with my rotary cutter, and the strong magnet will interfere/wipe out the camera.

A magnet, even a large neodymium, should have no effect on a GoPro camera. For example, I have placed a 1/2" x 1/2" by 2" neodymium magnet on my iPhone to prove the point. It had no effect at all.

A tape based video camera could have a problem since the data is stored on magnetic media...

Just purchased a new Kioti CK35H, but its not currently at my location. I am in the planning stage of adding work lights on the rop unit and trying to determine the measurements for the mounting brackets that I plan to make myself. By question is this, does anyone know the size of the channel stock that the rop is made of? Width and depth?

I drilled and tapped mine, never looked back.
