Yes, the CK30 performed flawless even in early January. The tempature peaked at 62*. The winds were 3 mph with gust up to 5 mph resulting in wind chills at, well, 62*.

I upgraded a section of driveway near the barn with fabric and new gravel. The old driveway was grass with maybe some 100 year old stone under it. It got pretty muddy in the spring and fall.

I wanted to raise the level of the drive so I placed the fabric right on top of the grass. I dug out where it met the existing stone and the high side.

Your joking right:D 62 being brutal:confused: I am sure that tractor will handle temps well below 0.

Finished for now. I want to reroute the lower section and need to add some fill to the new location first.

Uhhh, Yeah Murph, that was a joke. So was the 5 mph wind chill.

The tractor works fine at 0*, although there is some whinning noise coming from the operator.

Nice project. Here's what I've been doing with my Driveway for the past couple of days... Yesterday the DK40 fired right up at a balmy +10F. This morning I got to do it all over again as last night's wind put 12 to 18 inches back on the drive. Tonight the wind is blowing again...

450,
I heard the fabric went up a whole lot in price. What was the name of the stuff you used and if you don't mind me asking how much per yard?? Thanks..

I'd rather pay the price for the fabric then watch all the rocks and stones disappear every year..

I called around in Syracuse and Utica and all were about the same price for fabric.

353.00 + tax = 385.00 for 12.5' wide x 432' long. About .90/ft or 2.70 a yard. That was on 12-14-06.

I'm not sure of the name, the invoice says GS-126R-600 / TER 12.5x432 Stabl Fabric. All said it was the DOT spec grade for the highway builders. I found some lower grade stuff but it was only a little cheaper, maybe .80/ft. DOT spec seems a little overkill for my little driveway. My gravel guy calls it Marified paper or geotextile. Crusher run was $ 60.00 / 10 ton delivered by my buddy, cheap.
