AAhhh, but it works better than a lot of commercial drones and can fly where DJI ones refuse to. That is why I have 3 the same. :)

Having looked at pics of your Drones before, I am impressed, again....

As to cosmetics. That doesn't improve the quality, accuracy, dependability or functionality of a Drone. I've saw several "home built" Drones. Never saw one that was pretty. Manufacturers of Drones make them pretty to sell better. I bought my Autel because it was Grabber Orange. Then after flying it a few times I realized that's an improved function as well. Much easier to see in flight.

I really like your Drones and am duly impressed with your talents!!!

Looks like Kubota Orange 2 to me Richard...... Why I've ordered one. That and your recommendation. Got the hard case and the extra batteries and props and stuff. Still need a tablet, have a cell phone (Andriod) but I believe the tablet will be easier for me to see. Any recommendation of that?

Hey, this discussion reminds me.

FAA has sent me two emails.

The first was sent on 5 May about the implementation of Remote Identification (Remote ID). Basically adds a "signature" to the Drone so someone tracking it can identify who it belongs to. I actually have no problem with that.

The second was sent on 8 May about the responses received concerning Remote ID. There are 1.5 million Drones and 160,000 licensed pilots in the U.S. 53,000 responded to the first email with questions and concerns. This prompted FAA to respond saying more information is forthcoming.

Did anyone else get these emails?

I purchased my Certification and Registration with FAA when I bought my Drone. I keep a copy of the Certification in my carrying case.

I use a 7x9" tablet. Went to Best Buy and purchased a $100 tablet. Can't remember the brand. I couldn't see my phone well enough. I constantly monitor my flight data which is displayed across the top of the screen. It was way too small on my phone.

Looking forward to your posts when you get started flying. We should start a bet pool on the first crash..... :D

At my age (70), I have a heck of a time seeing the Android phone and texting (I do very little) has to be with a soft tipped pointer. I cannot input anything with my finger tip and I tried the voice to text, once was enough for that.

I presume any tablet so long as it's WiFi, has a card slot and a USB port and I'm good. Correct?

When I get it and sorted out, my first flight will be in the middle of my 40 acre back hay (after I've cut it of course. No trees, no obstacles and no one to bug me. Not looking forward to crashing it, but will probably occur. I take it they are fairly crash worthy?

Ordered it from B&H. Was going to get it from Amazon but I don't like Bezos so I didn't. I know that is political so I apologize for that comment.

Personally I use a Samsung Tab S4. Still hard to see in direct sunlight but once I have programmed my drone it is only used to monitor the battery and I can hit the RTH or Land mode if any aircraft unexpectedly appear.
My Tablet came with a 'pen' which is great if you have stubby fingers but I manage OK without it.
One good thing, the pen does not need a battery unlike the iPads.
I do have an iPad that I can use as well. The program runs on all formats.
There is a C port on the Samsung and mine came with a small adapter that converts it to USB. There is an extra slot for a mem card as well.

Thats me, stubby digits. Stubby arthritic digits at that. While neither her nor there, Chemo about ruined my hands. Little feeling in my finger tips anymore. Doctor says it will come back after time but so far, it sucks, big time. Imagine trying to pick up small parts like small hex nuts and not being able to feel them. Thats me and it's very frustrating at times. Picking my nose has become a chore..... I cope but it's always a challenge. Least I'm on this side of the dirt. Should be happy with that.

LOL I have had a couple of hand ops as well (dupingtons) but mostly OK now. I do know where you are coming from picking up small nuts and screws. My drones have heaps of them!!

I tell myself, "I'm not going to drop this one", But I do everytime.

Alien mentions programmed flight. I've never done that. I'll have to try it sometime. My flights are too random for that to be of much use. Usually taking pics or video of varying targets.

When I launch I look at the Drone until it clears any obstacles. Then I look at the monitor only. Look at the Drone again when getting ready to land. I "catch" my Drone and never land on the ground.
