I liked the Fimi but the service was non existent. They couldn't fix my range problem.
I have 2 buddies who have Mavics so I will feel more at home. One is a DJI dealer and he can get one for cost for me. Even better... service won't be a problem.

I gave up on AutelPilots.com. Non existant customer service.

Bought an Autel Evo II Pro from Autel Robotics direct. Great customer service, had the Drone in three days.

I've only flown an hour. I'll do a report when I get time to fly more. Great camera with zoom.

I bought a Mavic mini a couple of weeks ago. I've never flown a drone or even a model airplane but it was very easy to get the feel for it

My house is surrounded by 100 foot tall trees and my gutters fill fast. I mainly wanted a drone for viewing my gutters after cleaning. I blew the gutters out Saturday and flew the drone around. I spotted three areas that needed more cleaning blew them out and never once got on a ladder. My gutters were clean and I didn't have to pay anyone to do a half assed job.....like they almost always have.....three time this fall

The drone will pay for itself before all the leaves drop

How do you clean your gutters without getting on the roof? What type of tool do you use?

Sorry for the momentary topic diversion...

I cannot do any DJI stuff because of the built in Geo Fencing. We have more than enough restrictions in our existence without have imposed ones in a hobby we enjoy (without consent).

Autel is running a sale on Evo, Evo II and other parts for a couple days. Just got the message in my inbox. Ordered a set of prop guards. I have a habit of trimming leaves with mine.

That's what I bought mine for.

I fly it before major storms and after. Shows me where limbs have dropped on my flat roofs.

Too bad about the FIMI. I take it you bought it from Bangood?

After purchase service and software upgrades are of utmost importance with any drone.

i bought the air 2, obstacle avoidance was wanted. and it doesn't have side obstacle avoidance.

i like it, but with my wooded area, range is not what i expected, which is really my only disappointment, and replacement battery cost.

also folds up into a bag the size of binoculars, which makes it very portable

With drones actual flight distance is always based on no obstacles in the path, IOW direct line of sight, but you can add parabolic reflectors to the antenna's on the controller for extended range. My EVO does about 5 linear miles around here, plenty enough for my uses. Me, I don't play the crash avoidance stuff if I can help it. I get my EVO above the trees asap. My Tello pocket drone is another story. It has a default ceiling of 40 feet so I have to be careful with it.

They do defoliate quite nicely..............

I bought my Fimi direct from the Australian Fimi Website thinking that would give me the best service. I was so wrong.
I bought spare props,(6) gimbal protector and battery from Banggood. Don't buy batteries from Banggood. They are old stock but the date on the boxes has been changed to a recent date. The battery I got was already over a year old. Typical chinese sales tactic.
I also bought the Parabolic reflectors but they didn't arrive until I sent the drone back. I will sell all the stuff and recoup some of my money back at least.

Disappointing, I was hoping to see a glowing report. I see Bangood reduced the price of the FIMI. As a rule I don't buy anything from Bangood but I do get their email ads all the time. I find their little hit and miss engines very interesting. Might buy one at some point.

can't have eyes everywhere, thus i will take all the help i can get, the best i can do so far is like 3.8 miles, but i have area's not even 1k feet and its lost signal. its suppose to do 10 miles, i was hoping for half of that.

Without sounding like some ogre, under FAA rules. no drone can be operated past the pilot's line of sight. You cannot see 10 milers visually. You can through the on board cam but that isn't what is meant by the rule. In essence, evety pilot that flies a drone past their actual limit of vision, is flying illegally.

The FAA pretty loosely enforces their rules but that could change at any time.

so how do you know yours goes 5 miles? No comment was made about the FAA rules, and to be very clear, as long as you have spotters who are in direct communication with the pilot, it can be out of sight for the pilot. I'm well aware of the FAA rules.

When I fly around my property the drone is out of my sight but it's my property. If I fly higher that say 60 meters on a sunny day I can't see it but I know where it is.
Delivery drones fly out of line of sight all the time. They would have to be clever to catch anyone as they need to be able to see the drone or get reports and that is unlikely unless one crashes and causes damage. Most drones are very quiet now and people are unaware they are flying overhead and would be gone before they could spot it anyway. Highly unlikely to find a pilot as has been shown in the past.
Even so I watch where I fly and don't fly near people. Mind you I would never fly around a city at night like some do.
So pleased I live in the country.

I don't want to go down this hole, and I'm going to stop shortly, but you don't own the airspace above your property, and as such are breaking FAA rules, I have as much right to fly over your property as you do since the FAA abolished private air space. Delivery drones do not follow the same rules as recreational drone users or commercial 107 users..

lets move on, all I'm saying is I am disappointed in the range, but I don't live in a very open area.
