It is also a good idea (and often code required) to use fire resistant caulk where the pipe goes through the wall. Be prepared though, the last tube I bought was in 96' costs 17 bucks.
My dryer pipe run is fairly long. I added a Fantech dryer fan to it to properly exhaust the lint. The fan has a barometric sensor on it so it automatically starts with the dryer and runs for ten minutes after the dryer has stopped.
