I would try but all the fittings at the valve itself are straight thread and have O-Rings for sealing on them.could put the 90 itself on the valve fittings, but, did not want to mess with those fittings if I could help it. I am an Aircraft Maint. Tech. and mess with O-Rings and they can get nicked, cut, damaged just looking at them it seems. Then they leak. So, I don't want to pull them to get fittings on..

Tom, No problem- I hear you on the o-rings and such- better left alone what already works.
What's your thinking on how you're going to protect the lines/valve?

I had my diverter valve installed on the loader, although i have nothing to use it for.

Mine did cost 550$ installed with all hoses and fittings, ready to use. Thats up here in Quebec so don't know how much you guys are paying.

To the OP: Are those elbows you put on the top steel and designed for high-pressure use? To my eye they look suspiciously like galvanized pipe elbows. If steel, please disregard.

Yep, Steel fittings. I would not use anything else on my tractors. I have used aluminum fittings for 3000 psi on aircraft, but, my tractors are not aircraft.

As for the guard, I was thinking 1/8 steel bent into a "U". 1-1/2 leg, then a leg to cover the valve, with the 3rd leg about 1-1/2 bent at a 45 going aft.
the first leg will have the 2 bolts thru.

Everything above the sentence "I think this explaination" was the explaination. Where I found it is listed below. Reason I found it, was it had been referenced in another thread.

Yeah, I saw what I thought was the same thing, and I was wondering if they are suitable for the application...
I take it they're not if galvanized?

Tom, I know that you said that the 90s were steel and not aluminum, but are they high pressure steel? I have never seen a hydraulic 90 like what you have there. It looks like it is for water or gas.

I know. They are temporary. I had to order all the proper steel ones I needed. Only found two in the 4 TSC stores I went to. I should be changing them out by next saturday If I am lucky and they come in.

If I wanted to do tubing, I have the flareing tool for the JIC fitting. There is no big problem using the 37 degree JIC with the 37-1/2 degree aviation flare. Much better than using the automotive 45 degree flares that some use. I no longer have a source for the aviation steel fittings. Unless, I ordered from Aircraft Spruce or similar company.
Still, It is cheaper to buy from TSC or such as those fittings do not have an FAA PMA. (Federal Avia. Admin. - Parts Manufacturing Approval. Which in my opinion, jumps the price up greatly)
