I have purchased a lot of their clothing over the years and its stood up great. I have firehose pants & shorts, underwear, long tailed T-shirts - - and short of accidentally taking my chain saw to their firehose pants - all have held up for years. BTW - the firehose pants stopped the Stihl at full tilt and my leg only received a minor scratch.

I can say the same about a previous pair of cutting chaps... I felt something pulling at my leg and pulled the saw off just as it hit my knee. They barely slowed that Partner5000 running wide open.

I get their email sales flyers almost every day but I just cant see paying sale price of $15 for a pair of underwear that normally sell for $20. Call me cheap. If I were wanting heavy duty pants, I would look at Carhartt brand. I used to buy them when I was welding and they lasted long, didn't burn too bad, had lots of pockets and were comfortable. Their bib-overalls are great for winter work along with their jackets. I bought one a couple years ago with a hoodie that is really warm.

Everything I look at with Duluth says made out of country so I am thinking maybe China or Indonesia, perhaps Mexico.

Did you see the story about Duluth Trading and Don Henley from The Eagles? Duluth had a catalog page selling their Henley shirts titled "Don a Henley, and Take it Easy". Clever, right?
Apparently Mr. Henley did not think so! He sued them and won! Duluth had to remove the reference, and make a donation to one of Don Henley's favorite charities.
I for one love their clothes, they last and last and fit me well. I especially love their Bare Naked boxers. I just hope the Bare Naked Ladies don't take any offence to that title.

I noticed when they were using Henley's name and was a big shock. You just do not play that game. They played and lost but the whole situation bothers me.

Later,

I liked the Firehose pants. Not bad for Chinese fire hose. I did not find them particularly stronger/tougher than Carrhart.

I like the Crack Spackle ad's they have. It is worth looking thru the catalogs just for chuckles at their humorous ad's. I like the stuff I have bought so far over the years. I have remarked to them though, "Where is Duluth China?" based on some of their imports :D

Reviving this thread because I'm in the market for another pair (or several) of decent outside work pants.
I had switched over to Propper's cargo pants about 3 years ago, primarily because their cargo pocket holds an 11" laptop like a military BDU.
But as I get into more woods work they start to rip.
So I bought a pair of DT MEN'S FIRE HOSE BRIAR PANTS. MN Fire Hose Briar Pants - Duluth Trading

Other than a lack of cargo pockets they are great. Found myself kneeling in a briar patch to undo a fence, nothing got thru the heavy-duty nylon leg patches or the 11.5 oz "firehose".
So I'd like to find something like them with cargo pockets, or at least 11.5 oz canvas.
So any recommendations for other brands?
I looked at Carhartt - close but about the same price.
Looked at Wall, they had 1 pair in a tractor store that was about 10" to small, didn't even list them on line.

I received several of their catalogs over the years...never bought anything from them. One reason was because the illustrations rather then actual pictures...to me, illustrations don't show the product.
I like Filson stuff, but it is expensive. Their jackets, foul weather gear and hats are superb.
For work pants, I like (and recommend) Arborware over Carhartt. Much more comfortable then Carhartt and appear to be just as durable.
