Re: Dumbest (most unsafe) thing you\'ve ever done?

Hey there Henro

I can top them all; dumb and unsafe and have done too many times.........

Take that trip to the bank and sign loan papers.

You can't imagine how many times I'd have liked to take back that signature.

Cheers.....Coffeeman

Re: Dumbest (most unsafe) thing you\'ve ever done?

I once had my tractor parked in front of my garage and needed to start it to check out my latest hydraulic modification. I was in a hurry and didnt take the time to climb up in the seat.
With my left hand I pushed in the clutch and with my right hand I turned the key - of cource it started right up. To my supprise and horror It was in gear when I let out the clutch. The tractor started moving right toward the garage. Fortunatly I had just enought time to climb up on the moving tractor and push in the clutch before it plowed through the garage door then smashing into my wife's Tahoe. Man was I lucky I did not get hurt not to mention how much pain I would have been in had I wreked my wifes Tahoe.

I really learned a lesson that day - I will never, ever try to start my tractor when I am not in the seat.

That said when I was young and foolish I used to acquire inert pineapple grenades and do a number on them to make them explosive once again (it was fairly easy). Then we had a particular secluded place (full of large man-made craters) where we would go to detonate them without worry of anyone getting hurt. I finally gave this nonsense up after I had an active one stole out of my car. I read the newspaper for a straight month thinking I would see an article about it but I never did. Needless to say it scared me so bad that I never touched another grenade.

Used to do a lot of questionable things and I have always said that there must be a good guardian angel sitting on my shoulder keeping me alive. Some day I'm going to have to make up for that and guard some other "soul" in retribution.
