On the BX trailer I don't have to, because I'm using SA Cyls and have a 12 volt valve that goes right to tank.
The trailer I just posted has DA cyls and it would be hard to let it down and end up with 0 psi on the lines. It can be done by putting a gauge at the couplers then you can see when you are at 0 psi.
The one I just posted is a 4 X 8 with 2' side walls. It is just right for a L3010 or L3130, also just right for a kioti 35hp. When on the flat land I pull it with my B7800, but don't think I would do it on the hills around here. For the hills and long trips I use my L4240.
