Is it easier for a hydraulic system to dump a trailer load with a scissor type setup or just by pushing the bed upwards? I've seen both setups and was just wondering.

Thanks

A scissor type of lift will tilt the bed more vertical to clear the materials. The simple ram lift (cheaper) might need help with a shovel etc. If you put the rams further back for higher lift then the power required to lift a full bed may exceed available hydraulic power - no lift. Large dump trucks use a telescoping ($$) ram for height.

The scissor lift still has to be placed accoringly or it will do as the simpler ram system will do.

I do like a scissor lift myself although I didn't install one on my little 4X8 dump trailer since the lift alone would have cost almost as much as what I paid for in building the whole trailer.
