Requirements can change state to state, registering a homemade trailer is fairly easy in my state of Virginia, other states it can be more difficult to almost impossible.Guys, can you make trailer like that legal, that can be used on road (with license plates).
On our side of the pond, that's almost impossible.
Virginia we just have to get the paperwork/ vin tag, then a state trooper comes out and verifies the vin plate. Once it's signed off by the trooper you can title and register it.Ohio is super simple. We have to take it somewhere with a registered set of scales and get an official weight. Then it can be titled as a homemade trailer.

Maiden voyage. Trailer was loaded with firewood before stacking 10 posts and 65 1x6s on top. It handled the weight awesome.
Still need to come up with a name for the trailer.
Yeah thats good but we all know what the real test is and what I want to see.................. I suppose it it is a good idea to not go the same route as the Titanic....![]()
Dump 1 yard of dirt at moderate speed with no strain on the frame one time all the time = satisfactory. 1-1/2 yard of dirt = well done. 2 yards = outstanding and impressive. More then 2 yards =1 2 3 and unbelievable from the materials that was used...........
I was told my 5' bucket when rounded = 3/yard so if you put in 3 scoops you should be aprox 1 yard and gravel makes an excellent choice, bring me over 3000 yards when you get around to it.......
Oldpath. What test are you wanting to see.
Oldpath. Lol dumb question. How many 5ft bobcat scoops is that. And would gravel suffice. I have a buddy that works at the gravel yard that told me to come play
A 5’ bobcat scoop is probably 1/2 yard.
Uh................. no I haven't forgot the gravel test, wood is good, but a big load of gravel is best......For us if it’s behind a tractor it doesn’t need license. If you are going to use it behind a vehicle for highway use then it does need license.
