Dump Trailer Log Splitter?

How big is your splitter? Can you weld/fabricate? Is there a way to mount a pair of reciever hitchs on your trailer and splitter to be able to quick attatch it to haul? There is always a way, sometimes you have to think outside the box. Of course if you have a larger splitter, that probly wouldnt work. Do you have a front end loader, where you could load/chain splitter to the bucket? I know that it is aggravating not to be able to haul it all. I have a old small poulan splitter that would be easy to do like the suggestions above. Are they that strict in Canada on that, looks like you could tow it behind your trailer, maybe run hazard lights on the splitter? LUTT

When I said this the other day, I meant could you make a carrier with reciever hitch material to carry your splitter instead of towing it. Looks like if you have a dump trailer, it would be to high to mount the splitter on the tounge or in the bed. My dump trailer has 3' sides and sits pretty high off the ground. My old splitter lays flat on the ground, some of the rounds I cut are way to big, I have to bar them on, or nose them with the loader. Now if a guy could come up with a easy way to split them where they fell in the trailer, that would be something. LUTT

I saw pic. somewhere that had a log splitter as the tongue of a trailer and the guy used the splitter cylinder as the dump for the trailer. Wish I knew where I saw it.

Maybe this is it?

Picture is a little fuzzy but it will give you some ideas.

Has anybody ever heard of a dump trailer log splitter all in one?
I have a wood furnace and only one tractor, I don't want to have to drag my trailer back and then have to drive back to get the splitter out of the bush.

I put my own design horizontal splitter across the A frame of my 3 cub m3 trailer,Works at about chest height, comfy for me,no bending,loglift/bench holds about 400 lb of logs.Unit is on slide, out in work mode,in when mobile.Catch tray for splits straight into trailer.Only bending done is when cutting logs, and to load loglift.I drive to logs, cut, split, load in one operation.I sell about 400 cub m3 of split hardwood per season, and cut ,split landowners timber for them when they can,t process it themselves as a sideline currently charging $50 per hour, works out for them about half the cost of buying in split hardwood firewood.I recommend an all in one unit, had mine for 7 years, cheers.

I need it to be road legal as well because sometimes I go out to my other acreage and get wood there, it's about 20 kilometers away.

IDK your laws, but around here, a tractor can tow about anything as long as it has proper SMV signs. No licenses required.

Towed equipment like splitters, compressors, etc. do not need licenses even if towed by a truck. But even regular trailers don't need licenses if towed by a tractor and are considered "farm equipment." Of course, that varies in different locations.
