I have a battery powered dump trailer lift which is work fine, but I am tired of buying new batteries for it and I am not using it behind the pick up anymore. So I would like to power the lift from my JD 5425. So I would need to run some cable from the front of the tractor to the rear, mount a quick disconnect on the back of the tractor, and then make the connection to the trailer power life motor. So wondering how big a cable should be used for something like this? Or any other ideas that you may have to make this a more simple conversion,
Thanks,
Craig

How often are you planning on dumping a load when used behind your JD? I would be concerned with amp draw overloading the alternator or charging system if cycled to often.

I would use heavy battery cable since some of those DC units pull 200+ amps when under load.
